Lars von Trier, one of (if not) the last enfant terrible of the movie world, is very near and dear to my heart, even though he is a monumental twat.

I like his movies, but I dislike him quite deeply. This one is no exception.

Also if you want some fine comedy watch his Cannes interview for this movie. You won't forget it anytime soon.

I wonder what's taking that asteroid so long.

So many times you hear another asteroid is about to hit, but then it doesn't.

Remember "Don't Look Up"? Remember how that movie has a great premise, but then the presentation is so insufferable it basically torpedoes itself into being unwatchable? This movie, Lars von Trier's "Melancholia", is the complete opposite of that. It's pure existential dread, and pure feel of hopelessness and helplessness, and yet it's awfully satisfying to watch.

That very much says more about me than about the movie, but I absolutely loved this one. It's weird, between this one and "Dogville" I think I'm really appreciating von Trier's filmography.

She was my main companion after I got her when I played the original. Wonderful girl. Love her.

I'm not used to drawing Birdo, but I felt she needed freckles.

Were there Graboids in the animated show? If there weren't, there should've been. More movies need Graboids.

Er...yeah, I was going through something with this one as well, hehe.

FGJ kindly allowed me to make a version for myself, for funsies and because the character of Shandra did speak to me, plus the concept of an apocalyptic bard reminds me of "The Artful Escape" and I wanted to draw some big scale difference.

This was drawn as a preamble to this year's No Clop November project, and it was perhaps the most fun I had detailing a piece this year. I am terrible at doing scrapbooks in real life, I always end up overdoing them. I'd rather just draw them, that's a lot more fun.

Also I very much based the look on how the Wondrous Journeys journal looks in Final Fantasy XIV.

BTW NCMares is a boss, and his Casual Princesses are a huge inspiration. I love drawing these characters in casual clothes. We need more Casual Cadence.

I have never watched the Star Trek Animated series. But, it's on my watch list!

I'm (very slowly) going through the whole series, there's a lot to unpack, I just recently finished Deep Space Nine (good stuff, though I liked TNG better). Next stop is Voyager, which a lot of people seem to have opinions of, oh dear.

Lieutenant M'Ress is a pretty cat lady, though. She's fun to draw.
